HIIIIIII!

I'm GiGi. I'm the new baby. My registered name is SWC Balenciaga but the humans call me GiGi. I like it. I also like back scratches and roaming around the barn taunting the big horsies. "YOU CAN'T GET MEEEE!" Then they kick at me and I run and hide behind my new human Mom. She says I'm still a baby - but I'm already one whole year old! I thought you all needed pictures of me, so here they are! Mom is too slow getting my welcome blog post up so I thought I'd do it. Everyone needs to see GiGi! These pictures were taken by my friend Carolee Dawn. She is really nice.

Oh! And I'm a mini horse!

K. Bye!

XOXO,
GiGi

So why call this A Pink Horse Blog?

My horses aren't pink of course. Though if they came in pink I'd have a whole barn full!
When I was younger they didn't make much horse stuff in pink. I searched & searched but found nothing. When I bought Shamelia last summer I was delighted to find that the tack shops were full of pink! So I have become a pink horse stuff collector.

My mares have become known as The Pink Horses. So I thought that would be a great name for this blog.

My first pink purchases were my pink accented Justin boots, a pink lunge whip & pink grooming caddy & brushes. The pepto-bismolization of the boarding stable had begun!

Much more pink stuff to come...

Welcome!

Hello & welcome to A Pink Horse Blog!

First an introduction; I'm Heather, the ruler of these here parts ;) I'm an Arabian Horse lover. I own 3 of the little darlings - 2 mares & a darling yearling colt. I adore all 3 of them & my world pretty much revolves around them! In my "spare" non horse devoted time, I work in the behavioral health unit of a local hospital. You know - I have to pay the horse bills somehow!

I grew up in a barn basically. I studied & trained with Norma & Steve Karst of Star K Arabians in Leesburg, GA from age 8 to 16. I rode the bus from school to the barn every day & stayed until well after dark & my parents forced me to go home. This is where my love of the Arabian horse originated. I bought my first Arabian around age 10. Her name was Loli-pop. She was a skiddish ex-barrel racer turned English Pleasure mare. That mare taught me a lot! Once I was old enough I began my "official" employment with Star K. Not long after I took a job working for David & Lorrie Mikosz who were then working for Lady Jean Ranch/LJR Elite Show Horses in Jupiter, FL. This was my first taste of the big time horse show world & I was hooked.

After leaving LJR circumstances forced horses out of my life. I've felt a huge void ever since. 15 years passed... Something had always been missing. I was incomplete. Then on July 17th 2013 I met a man named Greg Knowles who introduced me to a horse named Shamelia. My soul mate in equine form. She completely changed my life. The rest is history. Or shall I say - the beginning of an era.

Next came Elaina - a daughter of my favorite Arabian stallion Afire Bey V. I have always dreamed of having an Afire Bey V daughter & this one stole my heart. I hadn't planned on getting 2 horses - but along came Elaina! She is Miss Personality & is constantly getting into some sort of shenanigans. I can't wait to share her stories with you!

Last but far from least came Martyn. Another fantastic horse brought into my life by Greg Knowles. He is currently a quickly growing yearling & he gets more beautiful every day.

I am currently training all 3 horses myself with the help of my barn friends Siw & Arthur. This space will be my place to share with the world our adventures, to tell you about some of my favorite horse products & of course - show off all the awesome pink horse goodies I find for my spoiled mares!
